Regular communication with internal and external stakeholders on how companies are taking steps to address forced labor is an important part of the due diligence process. Such conversations provide a platform to discuss challenges and develop approaches to strengthen a company’s risk prevention and mitigation efforts.
In addition, there are a growing number of countries that require public disclosures detailing how companies are assessing and managing risks of forced labor, among other requirements.
To assist our member companies, the RLI collaborated with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) to develop a toolkit on Advancing Modern Slavery Reporting to Meet Stakeholder Expectations. The toolkit provides guidance primarily for downstream companies on reporting on due diligence and supportive measures related to modern slavery across the value chain, at any level of reporting experience.
